Winter is almost here and all types of lurgies and viruses are waiting to make us sick. Now is the time to boost your immune system.

The humble potato and a cold cooked one at that. Spuds are one of the best foods for feeding our gut bacteria. Cold baked potatoes are high in resistance starch, glorious food gut bacteria. These little microbes help keep the immune system functioning at an optimal level.

Cook your spuds ‘natural’, do not put oil or fat on them, it is this combination that causes you to gain weight. Just scrub and wash them, place them in the oven and cook for 30-60 minutes, depending on their size, allow to cool, and eat with salt or your favourite salsa. No fat or oil or butter or cream or cheese. Just plain; and at least 5 hours away from any form of fat. This is important.
